What Ya Got Cookin'?

A project in my own home has inspired this latest blog post. Today we are going to look at some gorgeous kitchens! My husband, Jeremy, and I purchased a home this past fall. It had been updated by the seller, including new granite countertops, tile floor, and dark grey cabinets.

Although I thought the cabinet color was very attractive, in combination with the dark floors and a lone window, it just felt a little too much like a cave. The Bat Cave, I had taken to calling it. I don’t know about y’all, but cooking and caves just aren’t cohesive in my book! Much to my delight, Jeremy agreed to that we needed to brighten the place up. He had a fun idea for the backsplash, but that’s Phase II, so we will talk about that in the future. In the meantime, our current solution was to paint the cabinets and hardware. Two days and about three (I think, I lost count) coats of paint yielded this happy little kitchen!

AfterKitchen
Spoiler Alert: Going from Dark Grey to White is a tedious process. I was worried for a bit there –
the grey kept peeking through, I thought we’d be painting forever!

Our little cabinet facelift (and getting inspiration for Phase II) was the spark for this blog post. So check out some of these favorite kitchens I’ve come across during my hunt!

SmallGlamKitchen
This small eat in kitchen has a chic feel with its clean lines,
and mix of metal, glass, marble and velvet textures.

WhiteWoodKitchen
Talk about an island! Imagine the cookies you could bake on that thing!
I love the mix of stained wood and white cabinetry, and how the cabinet detail is echoed in the island millwork.

MoodyKitchen
This kitchen is all glamour and mood! The dark wood cabinets are offset by the white marble countertop and glass front doors.
The mirrored backsplash, silver hardware and crystal chandelier lend a little bit of shimmer to the brooding kitchen.

RedKitchenIsland
I adore the pop of red in this otherwise neutral kitchen.
The fierce color really draws you in, and gives a cozy warmth to the room.

DreamKitchen
This is my goals kitchen! I absolutely dream about this mix of black and white cabinetry.
The glass front upper cabinets are great to feature your fave china pattern!
The large island and gold barstools are just waiting to entertain guests! One day… now I just have to convince Jeremy!
